2025.09.26 - Harmony Electronics Announces Leadership Transition and New High-Tech Manufacturing Facility in Thai

Expanded Operations and Leadership Strengthen Regional Supply Chain Resilience and Global Capabilities
Kaohsiung City, Taiwan (September 2, 2025) – Harmony Electronics, a global leader in precision timing components, is proud to announce two significant developments marking a new chapter for the company’s growth and innovation. The company will launch its newest manufacturing facility in Om Noi, Thailand, in the second half of 2025 while strategically repositioning its leadership to drive long-term success.
The new facility, and second site in Thailand, underscores Harmony’s commitment to addressing surging market demand, reinforcing global supply chain resilience, and lowering risk investment. This expansion will directly support industries such as consumer electronics, data communications, automotive, industrial systems, and medical applications. IATF certification is expected to be awarded in 24 months (about 2 years). The new facility will further advance the company’s leadership in Southeast Asia (SEA), expanding greater SEA operations to address the anticipated growth of the global crystal oscillator market, which is projected to grow from USD 2.89 billion in 2025 to USD 3.66 billion by 2030, driven by advancements in automotive electronics and the increasing demand for compact, high-performance devices.
“This facility exemplifies our dedication to meeting global demand for manufacturing flexibility with precision and speed,” said C. Ching Yang, Chairman and General Manager of Harmony Electronics. “We’re not only strengthening our ability to serve key growth markets but also creating valuable opportunities for Thailand’s local talent and economy. The key is also to provide our customers with better geographical risk management in their supply chain.”
The new facility is designed to enhance Harmony’s production of high-quality crystal resonators, particularly those in miniature package sizes, which are essential for market growth in applications such as upgraded Wi-Fi standards, AI, IoT, servers, and telecommunications. With round-the-clock operations 7 days a week, the plant intends to drive efficiency through automation, delivering quality at scale.
Automated Manufacturing Footprint to Strengthen Global Supply Chains
Strategically located west of Bangkok, the Om Noi manufacturing facility will feature the latest automation technology for timing devices, ensuring efficiency and consistency. The facility will produce high-quality crystal resonators in miniature package sizes, critical for advanced technologies in various industries. With industry-leading certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF-16949, which are all currently in progress, the plant prioritizes operational excellence to meet the stringent standards of high-reliability sectors such as the automotive and defense industries.
By establishing a second local manufacturing hub in SEA, Harmony is mitigating global trade risks, including tariff impacts and supply chain disruptions for an industry traditionally confined to countries of origin in China, Taiwan, and Japan. This localized production strategy ensures competitive pricing, delivery flexibility, and supply chain reliability for international customers.
"Harmony recognizes the complexities of navigating global trade uncertainties and tariff impacts, which continue to challenge the electronics industry," stated Yang. "By localizing production in Southeast Asia and strategically positioning its new facility in Thailand, Harmony is mitigating these risks while ensuring supply chain resilience. This proactive approach enables the company to maintain competitive pricing and deliver uninterrupted service to its global customers."
Sustainability, Community Investment, and Local Talent
Harmony's Om Noi plant will establish a benchmark for operational sustainability, incorporating energy-efficient systems designed to meet global carbon reduction targets. The company states that it will maintain an environmental sustainability focus as it expands.
Certifications such as ISO 14064 and ISO 14067 are part of Harmony's roadmap, reflecting its long-term commitment to environmental responsibility. Located just an hour from Bangkok, the facility benefits from convenient access to two airports, allowing Harmony to quickly respond to regional demand while creating economic opportunities in the local community.
Equally important is Harmony’s focus on hiring local talent for critical roles, fostering economic growth, and cultural synergy. By partnering with local institutions, Harmony aims to enhance its workforce while contributing to Thailand’s development as a regional hub for innovation.
“Our continued investment in Thailand ensures longevity and consistency for our partners,” Yang added. “Blending multicultural expertise with local core competence is at the heart of our approach to delivering unmatched solutions.”
Leadership Transition to Drive Strategic Continuity
Harmony’s leadership evolution accompanies its operational expansion, with the Board of Directors announcing that C. Ching Yang will assume the role of Chairman while continuing as General Manager. This move reflects a focus on stability, innovation, and maintaining the company’s industry leadership.
“As a key player in the timing industry, we understand the importance of supply stability, performance reliability, and strategic continuity,” said Yang. “Under this leadership, Harmony will continue to prioritize operational advancements and comprehensive solutions for our partners worldwide.”
