  Paying attention to safety and health work is H.ELE existing culture. Through institutionalized, documented and systematic methods, we actively carry out education and training, regulatory review, hazard identification, risk assessment, set safety and health improvement priorities, and set goals. and improvement plans, through the implementation of improvement plans and regular audits, and then review by management to continuously improve safety and health performance, so that the company's operational risk can reach "zero disaster." To implement a safe workplace and eliminate hazardous factors in the workplace, our company has introduced the ISO45001 standard as the criterion for occupational safety and health management and the basis for the execution of occupational safety and health management operating documents.

Human rights policy

 

In order to fulfill corporate social responsibilities and protect the basic human rights of all colleagues, customers and stakeholders, H.ELE. adheres to internationally recognized human rights norms/principles, including the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Global Compact, and the International Labor Organization. We formulate human rights policies based on the core labor standards of the basic conventions and local laws and regulations to prevent any infringement and violation of human rights and ensure that both internal and external members of the company can receive reasonable, equal and dignified treatment.

The Declaration of Human Rights of H.ELE. is as follows:

  1. Diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities
    There will be no differential treatment in language, attitude or behavior based on personal gender, race, class, age, marriage, language, thought, religion, party, place of origin, place of birth, appearance, facial features, physical or mental disabilities, etc., and we are committed to creating a working environment that is dignified, safe, equal, and free from discrimination and harassment.
  2. Prohibition of forced and compulsory labor
    Respect employees’ wishes and prohibit forced labor.
  3. Prohibition of child labor
    Employment standards meet local minimum age requirements.
  4. Reasonable wages and working conditions
    Providing employees with reasonable salaries and related benefits in accordance with laws and regulations.

    Building a safe and hygienic working environment, jointly reduce workplace safety and health risks, promote employees’ physical and mental health, and achieve work-life balance.

    Providing multiple and open communication channels, hold regular labor-management meetings, strive to promote harmony between labor and management, create good labor-management relations, and effectively mediate opinions.

•Each factory area conducts fire safety drills and first aid training every six months.
•General occupational safety and health education and training are held regularly every year.

•Training related to human rights protection is conducted every year.
•Provide employees with a diversified occupational safety-related external training information inquiry platform.
•Set the minimum number of required environmental education training hours/classes for employees each year.

 


 

Supplier management

 

In order to ensure that suppliers achieve consistency in terms of quality, cost, delivery, service quality, environmental safety, health, and production, and to work with suppliers to implement environmental protection, human rights, and resource recycling and sustainable development, H.ELE. has formulated the 「Supplier Management Policy」、「Supplier Social Responsibility Requirements」、「 Certificate of Non-use for Hazardous Substances」, and work with suppliers to fulfill social responsibilities and promote the sustainable development of the supply chain.

 

H.ELE. requires raw material suppliers to sign an [ESG Commitment Letter]. Raw material suppliers must promise to abide by relevant laws and regulations in various operating activities, promise to comply with social responsibility requirements, and 100% sign and agree to the following:

  1. Labor:
    1. Anti-discrimination
    2. Prohibition of child labor
    3. Prohibition of forced labor and punitive measures
  2. Moral aspects:
    1. Avoid violating the principles of business integrity.
    2. Corruption, bribery, fraud and other improper behaviors are prohibited.
    3. Fair competition and protection of intellectual property rights.
    4. It should be ensured that no information about Gaohe Electronics will be published, revealed or leaked.
    5. Must not contain minerals from conflict areas.
  3. Environmental health and safety:

    3. Integrate environmental safety management

 

If the supplier of raw materials is involved in illegal activities and violates relevant policies, H.ELE. will terminate the transaction and cooperation if necessary. We look forward to taking advantage of this event to continue to communicate and improve, to jointly fulfill our responsibilities for the environment and society, and to jointly establish a stable and sustainable supply chain.

Based on the [Supplier Management Operating Procedures] and [Supplier Quality Evaluation Management Standards], H.ELE. use the [H.ELE. Supplier Evaluation Questionnaire] to conduct regular annual evaluations and audits of raw material suppliers to achieve supervision, Monitoring and risk reduction purposes. The contents of regular evaluation and audit include organizational system (connotative organizational system, ESG, risk management), quality execution, HSF (green management of hazardous substances) and 4M changes. In 2023, there are 14 audit deficiencies in the raw material supplier audit, of which 13 items are missing. It is the quality execution aspect, and item 1 is the organizational system aspect.

Conflict Minerals Declaration

 

Reported by EICC ,that the origin of these minerals has become the Democratic Republic of Congo’s main revenue sources of armed rebel groups ,to deal in arms ,continued its bloody conflict between government force , devastated the local civilian population ,thus triggering international disputes .HARMONY ELECTRONICS CORP ,as the global citizen , we declare and commit to refusing the application of metals from fighting region ; meanwhile , we request HELE's  supply chain:

1) Conduct your operations in a way of social and environmental responsibility;
2) Not use the conflict minerals originated from the Democratic Republic of the Congo(DRC)and its   adjoining countries;
3) Trace the origins of the metals used , e.g. Au , Ta , Sn , Co , and W , and fill in the investigation from/sign declaration;
4) Make the same requirements to your upstream suppliers.
 

Conflict metal : The minerals composed of columbite-tantalite , cassiterite ,wolframite and gold from the fighting region of Democratic Republic of the Congo(DRC). These minerals are refined into tantalum(Ta) , tin(Sn) ,cobalt(Co) ,tungsten(W)and gold(Au) , respectively , and are used in electronics and other products.
In the near future , the metal produced by some smelter may be banned , therefore all of our key supplier are required to map their supply chains for the metals in their components back down to smelter and then to source.
